Sutton Hoo buckle (bu07)

Pewter with intricate embossed design of intertwined snakes and beasts with three convex discs. This buckle has a hinged bar for the belt to clip onto and the other end has a strong prong to push through the hole in the belt.
This buckle is a partial replica of an Anglo-Saxon, early 7th century, gold buckle which was found in the ship burial mound at Sutton Hoo, Suffolk.
