Interlacing Aberlemno knot pill box (SX128)

Silver-plated pill box with a pewter panel on the hinged lid which is embossed with a Celtic knot design. The box is open by way of a push spring catch and has a white plastic lining with three compartments. Supplied with a black velvet pouch.
The interlacing knot on this item is taken from the carved cross slab in the churchyard at Aberlemno, Scotland. Pictish in origin, it dates from the 8th century and the reverse of the slab is thought to depict the batttle of Dunnichen.
