Knox tulip picture frame (CF54)

Solid pewter with embossed design and cold enamel tulips. Glass front with flock-coated backing pad and hinged stand, secured in place by two brass corners and a swivelling lug.
Archibald Knox (1864-1933) was born on the Isle of Man. He was active in the Arts and Crafts movement, which paralleled Europe's Art Nouveau era of the early 20th century. His designs reflect the Celtic tradition and his belief in functionalism and simplicity of design.
